Introduction

My Tlingit Introduction. Please forgive me for my mistakes.

I worked hard on my tlingit introduction, finding out how to pronounce words, finding the correct information, and more difficultys i faced learning my introduction but it was very much worth it. I thank all the teachers, counslers, and elders for helping me with everything.

My Path!

I want to go to business college and open a store and sell native art. I want it to be a family store and i'll sell family art. That is what i wanna do. On the side i want to be a CNA (certified nurses assistant) at one of the old folks home.

Water Examination!

We examined water and found a bunch of bugs. We had nets and we walked threw the water with them then we looked in the net and matched the bug in the net with a bug in a bug identification book then put the bug back in the water.

GPS!!!!!!!!!!!

We got a chance to learn how to use a GPS. It was a great experience and now i wont get lost with a handy dandy GPS! We marked way points on the catamarans and on the Mt. Roberts Tramway Trail and we also marked diferent waypoints on the sandy beach trails. It was a great learning experience.

What i call home

This is juneau, the place i call home. Iam connected to my home by culture, the Tlingits lived in juneau for many years and iam Tlingit. I've lived in Juneau since i was a baby so im connected with the land i respect it and love it.

SEALS!!!!!!

We have disected seals, it was very bloody...Lyle he woke up at 4:30 in the morning and went out and hunted seals, he got 3 and gave one seal to the owner of the boat to thank him for letting him use his boat. He let us students disect the other two. Lyle had me take the seals heart out and part of the spinal cord, then he had me skin part of the head. It was kinda scary cuz the seal was still warm...
After we gutted the seal we took the fat off the seals skin, in the picture above im the one in the gray sweater. After we disected the seals i was covered in seal blood it was smelly. I thank Lyle for going out early and hunting the seals and i thank the seals for giving their life for us.
